ZOMBIE MOVIES -The Living Dead Have Risen!!!

For the zombie movies, the characteristics have changed. The early versions had voodoo types that featured slow moving, obeying servants that were based on the folklore and spiritual beliefs of some foreign exotic countries like the West Indies or Africa. The modern day version are quick living corpses and flesh eating killing machines that seem impossible to kill.

The one that started it all starring horror legend Bela Lugosi.

These early versions were different than the current ones of today.

Other early zombie movies.

Not many of these films were done after WWII to the about late sixties.

There were some voodoo movies that overlapped this genre but not many of these films were being made.

Films from the 1950's and 60's

This horror classic literally resurrected the whole zombie genre. It was made on a small budget and was such a box office success that it became the blueprint for many more movies to come.

Many more of these films are being made. Generally very cheap to produce and the zombies were not just any type but even a specific type.
